Master Programs
Master in Cybersecurity & BlockChain
Overview of the Program
Language English
Duration 2 Years
Level Graduate
Approach Hybrid
The Master program in Cybersecurity and Blockchain is designed to train future talent needed for: (i) the protection of our information society, and (ii) the design of information systems that incorporate security from the outset in a systematic manner. Furthermore, it is designed to train architects and developers of systems relying on decentralized trust based on distribued ledger systems known as Blockchain. Blockchain applications have many important applications beyond digital currency, and they are already adopted by enterprise solutions in various sector including health, education, and commerce.
Admission requirements
Students must be holders of a Licence or Bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Program objectives
Specifically, the Cybersecurity and BlockChain Master’s program aims to provide students with the latest principles, practices, tools and techniques to gain a thorough understanding of the challenges posed by cyber security issues and to develop the skills to address these challenges in the most effective manner. This Master’s program aims to train specialists who master modern technologies to protect data and meet the challenges posed by cyber-attacks in the most effective way. It aims to equip students with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to analyze and evaluate practical problems and respond to the important challenges faced by different sectors. Furthermore, it aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge in the application BlockChain technology for the implementation of more robust and secure systems. The training includes examples of applied research and develops professional skills essential to industries, companies, e-commerce and governmental organizations by proposing technological development projects. At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Evaluate, map, and analyze risks on a company’s information and computing infrastructure.
- Define and implement an ISMS (Information Security Management System)
- Detect, analyze, and manage security incidents. Put in place security palliatives and solutions, based on network and information system defense techniques.
- Implement security solutions based on Blockchain technologies and systems.
Target careers
The Master program is designed to train future talent needed for: (i) the protection of our information society, and (ii) the design of information systems that incorporate security from the outset in a methodical manner. Within a few years of completing the Professional Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and BlockChain, graduates are expected to be:
- Employed in industry and demonstrating career advancement through leadership responsibility, significant technical achievement, or other recognition of their contributions.
- Continuing their formal education towards a graduate degree or other professional certification in the field or leading their own technology venture.
- Applying gained knowledge and expertise to design, develop, and implement integrated security solutions for information systems, networks, and applications.
- Working as security analysts, engineers, and consultants as well as research engineers, or information system security professionals, either as developers, architects, or auditors.
- Operational in cyber security assignments, through the acquisition of fundamentals, but also through case studies and practice on real-world problems.
- Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity threats and challenges faced by industry and society and the state-of-the-art approaches, concepts, techniques, and tools that can be used to elaborate and implement policies and solutions to face them.
- Responsible, thanks to an understanding of the ethical, privacy and sustainable development issues for today’s industry and society.
Certifications
Graduates of the Master program often acquire a number of professional certifications in parallel with their engineering training thanks to the courses offered by MUST’s centre for professional and executive education.
Certifications are available in various areas including system & network management, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science, and database management.
