Biography

Pr. Akram Temimi holds a Ph.D. in Economics, an M.S. in Policy Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.Sc. in Economics and Statistics from the University of Tunis. He is currently a Professor of Economics at Qatar University. Prior to that, he was a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Alabama. Dr. Temimi published in the Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Journal of Mathematical Economics, Public Choice, Review of International Economics, Journal of Public Economic Theory, Energy Policy, Applied Economics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.

His research interests are in Political Economy, Public Economics, Islamic Finance, Financial Economics, Energy Economics, Collective Action and Industrial Organization. His teaching interests include Microeconomics, Game Theory, Managerial Economics, Industrial Economics, and Statistics. He won the Commerce Council Teaching Award for outstanding teaching at the University of Illinois, and was appointed as a Board of Visitors Research Fellow at the University of Alabama.

His work has been cited by Nobel Laureates Daniel Mc Fadden and Vernon Smith and by some of the leading scholars in Economics such as Jean Jacques Laffont, Daron Acemoglu, and John List.
